Helping Hands Gifts-In-Kind Program
The Helping Hands Gifts-In-Kind Program was developed to help the underserved,
the disabled, seniors and the veteran populations. The program was established
to assist families that are regularly disqualified from other programs. The HHTC
GIK Program affords these families additional basic needs services at NO CHARGE.
Clients do not have to shop every month. Their participation is strictly voluntary and all items received through the program are free.
The donations received from national retailers offers families that were heavily
impacted by the recent disaster or are otherwise facing daily challenges, an
opportunity to obtain day to day basic needs. Many families were disqualified by
other agencies. Some families received damage to their homes and were unable
to make the necessary repairs. We have home improvement donations that will
assist these families. Many donations include paint, plumbing, electrical, and
other home repair items needed as a gateway to people in recovery – FREE OF
The underserved population and anyone who receives TANF, WIC, Food Stamps, CHIP, SSI or are on a fixed income are eligible for the program and are assessed prior to participation.
